I love shots like this. It’s a ‘blink of an eye’ kind of thing – I can imagine being there, turning round and bing! there’s a wee bit of life going on which lifts an otherwise 2D scene and with the open door, the man, the paper, and the ‘depth’ they infer, it all becomes 3D. The best pictures are just so simple when you stop to think about them. Thats what makes them so hard to take – most of us might think about them, but we don’t necessarily stop when we see them occur.
Clearly I needed a break from factual, non-fiction, academic writing. Finished Ender's Game in 2 days! Love the alien consciousness/societyposted 5 days ago

Thanks John. I find i am gravitating towards quieter moments in NYC than maybe the traditional idea of street photography here.
Ed this is outstanding and the beginning of story
Hmm, we’ll see…
In the area I live, a picture like this could have been titled “the aftermath”
How so?
“…of the night before” people picking up stuff after slinging/smashing them around the night before. Rowdy people in my neighbourhood.
Is it just me, or is your morning paper blue?
Great photo Ed!
Thanks Barri!
